Manchester-based artificial intelligence (AI) firm Peak has today announced it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Machine Learning (ML) Competency status, one of just three in the UK.

As the latest step in Peak’s AI story, the company says the announcement is testament to its demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success.

ML Competency status will differentiate Peak as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member and validate its machine learning expertise to current and future customers.

On a mission to help businesses ‘do great things with data’, Peak explains that it provides its customers with the technology and skills needed to become AI-driven.

It said it is recognised for its custom-built solutions that help solve the most complex data challenges, while enabling machine learning to drive insights-driven decisions.

Having been an APN Partner for several years, the AWS platform sits at the heart of Peak’s business model.

Utilising a number of AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, EMR and SageMaker, Peak has been able to help businesses better understand and grow their customer base, improve business efficiencies and make invaluable real-time predictions.

Chief executive Richard Potter said: “Achieving AWS ML Competency status is a fantastic recognition for us, both as a business and an APN Partner.

“It recognises Peak’s proven track record of delivering machine learning-led solutions that drive tangible business benefits.

“It also reinforces our team’s dedication and commitment to helping customers achieve their business goals by leveraging the Peak AI System, which is built using the agility and flexibility AWS gives us.”

One such success story is Peak’s implementation with online automotive service company, Regit, formerly Motoring.co.uk.

Through the power of machine learning, Peak’s AI System was able to provide insights that increased Regit’s call centre revenues by 27% in just a 30-day period, and reduced operational costs by 35%.

Regit chief executive Terry Hogan said: “Regit uses the Peak AI System for contact centre lead scoring.

“Their customers and leads are scored using machine learning to determine their purchase propensity and sales reps prioritise their work using the lead score.

“This solution has resulted in a 27% uplift in sales for Regit.

“SageMaker plays a key role in the Peak AI System – enabling the customer lead scores to be streamed via our API into the client system.”
