Dreamtex wins rights to two blockbuster brands

Licensed textiles specialist Dreamtex has continued its expansion programme with the acquisition of two major brands – Game of Thrones and L.O.L. Surprise!™

Manchester-based Dreamtex fought off tough competition to win the European home textile distribution rights for the world’s epic fantasy drama Game of Thrones.

Dreamtex managing director Anthony Duckworth said: “This is a huge win for us and we are honoured to be working with HBO.

“Game of Thrones is such an exciting project and it has given our design team the chance to get really creative with new fabrics and product ideas.

“Winter is coming and we are really looking forward to the final series in 2019, the interest so far from retail has been amazing.”

The range, launching in Spring 2019, will include embroidered cushions, super soft throws and, for the first time, wall banners representing the houses featured in the series.

Dreamtex, which has doubled its turnover growth projection for 2018, has also secured the home textile rights for the highly popular girl’s collectible brand L.O.L. Surprise! ™ – the No 1 toy in the US and the UK.

The deal, agreed with MGA Entertainment, awards Dreamtex the rights to supply home textiles in the UK and Ireland as well as Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.

“We were delighted to be awarded this contract as demand for product has been so phenomenal,” Mr Duckworth added.

“We are now working hard to create new designs and products to meet the ever-increasing retailer requirements.”

Bedding, cushions, towels and wall coverings have all featured as part of the first wave of product to hit the shelves, with new designs and products already planned to bolster the company’s growth through 2019.

“We have ambitious plans for Dreamtex over the next couple of years as we look to gain market share through new customer channels and exploit new territories outside the UK,” said Mr Duckworth.

Dreamtex completed its 100% share purchase from previous partners earlier this year in a deal which was backed by Barclays. Dreamtex continues to be advised by Brabners and Clearview Corporate Advisory.
