Former Henri Lloyd HQ and warehouse is put up for sale

Henri Lloyd HQ

The former Manchester offices of designer clothing brand Henri Lloyd has been put up for sale.

The brand – which was a favourite of Kate Middleton – was bought out of administration in the summer.

Henri Lloyd was bought by Aligro UK Limited in a deal that led to the loss of 128 jobs.

The fashion retailer was known for its sailing and waterproof clothes and was also a favourite of the Gallagher brothers

As part of the deal five stores and certain stock assets were sold to Aligro while stores in Falmouth, Truro, Street and Swindon closed along with the Manchester offices.

Henri Lloyd blamed “challenging trading conditions on the high street” for entering into administration.

The brand was founded by decorated Polish soldier Henri Strzelecki in 1963 after he moved to Manchester to study textiles during the war, alongside his partner Angus Lloyd.

Property consultancy and chartered surveyors Sanderson Weatherall has been appointed to market the former offices and warehouse.

The properties are both located on the Smithfold Lane Industrial Estate in Worsley.

David Murray, partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s Manchester office, said: “These properties present a fantastic business opportunity for potential owner occupiers or investors seeking space in an established industrial estate.

“The hybrid property is a great size and suitable for a range of different uses and we expect to receive significant interest.”

The warehouse is just over 42,500 sq ft and is already under offer with Sanderson Weatherall expecting to complete in the next couple of months.

The second property includes a two-storey hybrid building with offices, showrooms, design studios and storage totalling 21,770 sq ft with a generous plot size of 1.11 acres.
