Roxy Ball Room set to open second Liverpool venue

Roxy Ball Room has submitted an application for a premises licence within part of the former BHS store in Liverpool city centre.

The site comprises 16,000 square feet of gaming split over two floors in the old BHS Cafe space on Rainford Square, in the city’s Cavern Quarter.

In 2016 Leeds-based Roxy Ball Room opened on Hanover Street as part of Liverpool One and has been a hugely popular attraction on the Liverpool social nightlife scene.

The new venue will be bigger, both in terms of floor space and gaming.

It is going to feature a nine-hole mini golf course, shuffleboard, ping pong, pool, retro arcade gaming and four full-size bowling lanes.
Joel Mitchell, brand development manager, said: “Roxy Ball Room was founded in a rebellious spirit, going against the norms of what was around us, and I think Liverpool has that same outlook.

“It’s safe to say that we have fallen in love with the city.

“The existing site on Hanover Street is nearly full for December in terms of advance bookings, therefore, we are confident there is capacity in Liverpool for a second Roxy Ball Room.”
Matt Jones, managing director, added: “Liverpool is a fantastic city and when the opportunity presented itself to take on the beautiful brick and glass building in Rainford Square we grabbed it with both hands.

“Our existing site in Liverpool One has really been embraced by the locals who have made it the ‘go-to’ place for a fun, different night out.

“We are confident we will complement, and also add something different to the Cavern Quarter in terms of social dynamics, including a strong emphasis on rock and indie music that we already feature in our Roxy venues.”

Roxy Ball Room’s second Liverpool venue is due to open in Spring 2019.

This will take the number of Roxy Ball Rooms owned by Roxy Leisure Ltd to eight, including sites in Manchester, Leeds Huddersfield and Nottingham.
