H&M to open new store in Liverpool

H&M Lord Street

H&M is to open a new store in Liverpool, located on Lord Street, on Friday, November 30.

The site is the former BHS store which has undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment, including a new shopfront and front elevation by the landlords, Vabeld.

H&M’s new site will cover two floors and will be in excess of 2,814 sq m.

It will replace the chain’s current store in the nearby Church Street.

With full ladies, divided, men’s, baby, kidswear, home and beauty concepts available, H&M says its new store will provide “great quality fashion, at affordable prices, in a sustainable way”.

On launch morning the first 500 customers in the queue will receive an exclusive goodie bag.

All customers who join the queue before 11am will also receive a 25% discount wristband to redeem against their entire purchase that day.

The retailer said its new Liverpool location will also include an in-store DJ.

“We are delighted to be opening a brand-new store on Lord Street,” said Toni Galli, H&M’s country manager for UK and IE.

“This relocation from Church Street is a great opportunity to be able to offer our Liverpool customers an even better shopping experience and we are confident this new store will offer exactly that.”

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first UK store in 1976.

Forty years later, the UK and Ireland portfolio has grown to include more than 266 stores.

With sustainability at the heart of its business model, H&M offers a garment collecting service worldwide.

The H&M garment collecting scheme was launched in 2013 and offers customers the chance to donate any unwanted clothes and textiles, by any brand, while shopping in-store.

All donated items are recycled with 0% going to landfill.

Mason Owen represented the landlord’s (Vabeld) in this transaction. H&M were unrepresented.
