Business Heavyweights bouts revealed

Business Heavyweights

Business Heavyweights, the white-collar boxing event which invites some of the biggest names in North West business to face off in the ring, has announced the fight card for November 8.

Fighting in aid of the Booth Centre, the Seashell Trust and Manchester Maccabi in the grand surroundings of the Audacious Church, the event is set to be the highlight of the corporate calendar.

Sponsorship for the event comes from Boohoo Man and Morson Group and, in no particular order, the full list of match-ups for the night are:

Dan “The Jekyll” Crossland (Investec) v Steve “The Chancer” Flynn (UCFB); Simon “The Headliner” Keegan (North West Business Insider) v Barry “The Playmaker” Leahey (Playdale Playgrounds); Daniel “The Real Deal” Burke (Brown Shipley) v Tom “The Blonde Bomber” Weedall (Wells Fargo Capital Finance); Giles “The Pressure” Chesher (Squire Patton Boggs) v Dave “Two Scoops” McGoff (McGoff Construction); “Big” Paul Fleming (BT) v Huw “The Bangor Beast” Ohri (EY); and Kevin “Roberto” Doran (AJ Bell) v Tony “Dynamite” Dickin (Palatine Private Equity).

Also announced for the event is ‘Phoenix Nights’ funny man Justin Moorhouse, who will serve as the ring announcer for the night, and former super middleweight champion of the world, Robin Reid, who will be refereeing each bout.

Discussing the upcoming event, Barry Leahey said: “Getting involved in Business Heavyweights has been a fantastic experience, and it’s only made better by having the opportunity to raise money for some wonderful causes.

“The training has been fun so far, but there won’t be any playing in the ring. Simon may be younger, but he’s no match for the Playmaker.”

Speaking about his opponent, Steve Flynn said: “Despite the age difference, I can’t see Dan posing much of a threat.

“What he’s got in speed, I can more than make up for in power.

“Although the training has been long and challenging, we’ve now all got our sights set on the big night, and can’t wait to step into the ring to raise some money for charity.”

A select number of last minute individual tickets have now been released and can be purchased by emailing info@businessheavyweights.co.uk
