Film company promotes great Northern cities to international millenials

Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock features in the campaign

North west agency, Zut, has produced a suite of video content to promote the ‘North of England City Experience’, a new multi-city tourism offering aimed at international millennial city breakers, featuring Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Hull and NewcastleGateshead.

The content, which provides a snapshot of the cultural highlights at each bustling city along the TransPennine Express train route, is at the heart of a collaborative campaign designed to showcase the regenerating and dynamic cities of Northern England.

Zut’s work captures the thrill and excitement of exploring all five destinations on one journey with a fly-through revealing the unique personality of each city with lively bars, cafés and restaurants, as well as stunning architecture, street art and visitor attractions.

The campaign is set to be rolled out in the Netherlands, Germany and the Nordics, supported by a ‘North of England City Experience’ rail ticket developed by TransPennine Express, which offers four days’ seamless travel between each of the five cities over an eight-day period for £99.

Mark Hancock, director of Liverpool-based Zut, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed producing this piece of work, which takes viewers on a cultural journey through our great Northern cities.

“We deliberately kept the pace fast-moving and bursting with adventure to appeal to well-travelled millennials who seek the buzz and excitement of the city break experience.

“This audience demands culture, fun and enrichment, which is reflected in our creative approach.”

Chris Brown, director at Marketing Liverpool, which is leading the campaign on behalf of the cities, said: “Each one of the five cities is a culturally-rich tourist destination in its own right, yet as a group they come together to offer a truly exhilarating experience for the discerning millennial traveller.

“As well as delivering content that tells the story of each individual city, the team at Zut has done a fantastic job in capturing the essence of the five cities as a multi-destination visitor experience.”

He added: “There’s a huge opportunity to inspire our near European neighbours to take the ‘North of England City Experience’ and I am confident that this suite of content will be key in inspiring millennials looking for their next cultural hit.”
