Stockport software firm acquired for undisclosed amount

Stockport firm Volcanic has been acquired for an undisclosed amount by software firm The Access Group.

Volcanic is a recruitment and staffing website software supplier with over 10 years’ experience providing software exclusively to the recruitment industry.

The company, which works with NES Global, Sthree Group, Morson and Oliver James, was founded in 2010 by Rob Wilde and Neil Pickstone and now has annual revenues of £5m. It employs just under 100 staff.

Since its launch Volcanic has grown to become one of the leading SaaS technology businesses in the recruitment sector.

The business supports over 600 customers across three continents including market leading brands.

Access, which is based in Colchester, already works with over 40% of the UK’s top 500 agencies and 75% of the top 20 agencies.

Volcanic, which will extend Access’ product offering, reinforcing its position as the UK’s leading recruitment software provider.

The only advisors on the deal for Volcanic was Knights  led by corporate partner David Easdown, Pearce Connery and Oliver Connolly.
