In-house construction team appointed for Manchester Gardens scheme

St George’s Gardens

Following a series of recent hires within the business, Macclesfield-based property group DeTrafford has announced the formal appointment of an in-house construction team.

It will act as the main contractor for St George’s Gardens, the 11-storey, 137 home, fourth phase of its Manchester Gardens scheme.

Already under way, the phase has reached construction on the upper ground floor level and is due for completion in May 2020.

Established over the past 18 months and backed by a wealth of industry experience across all areas of construction, the team has a proven track record of delivering high quality projects, working on the iconic Beetham Tower, Great Northern Tower, St Peter’s Square and the Trafford Centre, to name a few.

DeTrafford Construction looks to achieve 600 homes under construction across multiple projects by the end of 2019, alongside the 1,500 homes already under construction or programmed with partnered contractors in 2019.

Gary Jackson, founder and chief executive of DeTrafford, said: “The creation of this team and capability within the business is a great step forward for DeTrafford.

“It not only highlights our commitment to delivering the very best product to our residents, but also allows us to further our innovative approach to creating exciting schemes.

“St George’s Gardens marks the first of many projects that the team are undertaking and to have such an experienced group of professionals to call upon is a great asset to us.”

John Currie, head of construction, added: “The opportunity to build and establish a construction team is something that I relished.

“As a result, we have some amazing people working with us who share the passion that DeTrafford has for delivering the group’s vision and ambitions.

“With the pipeline of exciting projects coming up, 2019 and beyond will affirm DeTrafford’s construction credentials.”
