Building specialist looking to grow across North and Scotland

Landmark Manchester

A North East specialist building services contractor has announced plans to expand by opening offices in Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh.

Castle Building Services Organisation said the growth strategy is a direct result of an extremely busy 12 months which has seen it secure around £53m in contract wins.

While these wins were secured during the latter part of 2018, they fall across both 2019 and 2020 start dates as part of Castle’s carefully planned and controlled workload.

To cater for the growth in demand for its services, Castle has signed a lease on new city centre offices close to the prestigious Landmark Manchester development on which it is providing a full range of M&E (mechanical and electrical) services.

Working with trusted key partners with which it has forged strong working relationships, in the past year Castle has won contracts ranging from £2m to £13m, with an average contract value of £5.3m in the higher education, commercial property and hotel and leisure sectors, as well as residential accommodation.

Notably, Castle is enjoying an increase in demand for its innovative approach to mechanical and electrical building services on office developments, working predominantly on new build schemes.

Further to working on Landmark Manchester, Castle is expected to start work on a new hotel development in Barrow-in-Furness which will be managed by the North West office.

According to commercial director Andrew Dawson, opening the new offices gives the company a wider breadth of resource, not only to deliver all the recent contract wins, but further scope to increase its order book for 2020 and beyond.

He said: “We have had a busy time of late concentrating our efforts on winning work and setting up our new offices in direct response to continued demand from existing clients that we consider to be our key partners, as well as new clients looking to work with us.

“Our model has allowed us to scale up operations while ensuring that there is spare capacity to respond to an increase in the flow of work.

“This is a very exciting time for everyone at Castle as we approach the £40m turnover mark and continue to build trusted local supply chain partners and create employment opportunities at all levels within the company, including trainee roles.

Lee Mitchell, Castle’s North West operations director, said: “We see the North West very much as a growth region and I look forward to building lasting relationships with clients in this area, too.”
