Established seaside resort tourist attraction offered for sale

Bolton-based sales broker Knightsbridge is now accepting offers on Southport Model Railway Village.

The tourist attraction first opened in 1996 and was the first model railway village in the UK.

It is designed to reflect local architecture from Merseyside and South West Lancashire.

Southport Model Railway Village is located on a 1.5-acre freehold site which includes landscape features such as two ponds which are regularly visited by local wildlife.

The attraction generated a healthy turnover of £77,000 last financial year, despite a limited opening season.

It benefits from an excellent location on the Lower Promenade, which sees high footfall, especially during the Summer months.

Southport Model Railway Village also boasts a 4.5 out 5 rating on Tripadvisor and is ranked second of all tourist attractions in Southport.

There is potential for growth through increased opening hours and seasonal events.

The shareholders have confirmed they are also willing to provide support and training to the new owners.
