Wolfe begins her journey with schools brief

JOURNEY9 UK, the new marketing business has won its first client, three weeks after its launch.

The business, led by Laura Wolfe, the high profile former Institute of Directors North West boss, is stepping up a search for a city centre office and looking to recruit two members of staff.

Her first client for Journey9 UK – which is the UK off-shoot of her elder brother David’s US-based business – is The Oracle Education Foundation,  the software giant’s registered education charity.

The brief entails: raising the profile of the foundation, recruiting teachers to take part in a free education programme, researching the target market of schools in the region, and finally running associated training events on behalf of the charity.

Laura told TheBusinessDesk.com: “It’s really exciting, I’m thrilled to be in charge of my own destiny and to have the chance to build the business in the North West.”

Journey9 is so named because it is her brother’s ninth business venture. Mr Wolfe, a former partner with accountants BDO is now a successful entrepreneur in the US. His interest vary from travel to an online maternity wear store.

After leaving the Institute of Directors Laura spent two years with Out There Events as sales director.

“I’ve learned an immense amount over the last two years, about running a small business and that people will buy from me,” she said.

An award-winning blogger, and frequent Twitter user Laura says her aim  is to use social media, traditional marketing and live events to “bring ideas to life”.
