Appointments: Sceptre appoints new FD from Baker Tilly; Brammer adds non-exec
AMUSEMENT machine supplier Sceptre Leisure has appointed Adrian Gare as group financial director.

AMUSEMENT machine supplier Sceptre Leisure has appointed Adrian Gare as group financial director.

Mr Gare was previously a director of corporate finance at Baker Tilly in Manchester and had worked closely with the team at Sceptre Leisure, advising on various  acquisitions including Crown Leisure Rentals.

The company said Mr Gare would be instrumental in considering more options for further acquisitions in the immediate future.

Meanwhile, Lesley Humphrys will take on the operational role of finance director for Sceptre Leisure Solutions and Regal Amusements, the principal trading companies within the group, and step down from the board.

Ken Turner, Sceptre’s chief executive, said:”We believe we have the best management team within our sector and as we seek to continue to develop the company by both acquisition and organic growth we require a very strong finance team to ensure profitability, compliance and controls.

“Adrian will also add significant experience of corporate finance. I am both excited and proud to be leading such a dynamic team and business.”

INDUSTRIAL parts supplier Brammer has taken on Charles Irving-Swift as a non executive director.

Mr Irving-Swift will start in his new role on March 1.

He has previously held senior positions in TT Electronics, Dana Corporation and T&N, and has experience in the automotive manufacturing industries. He has also previously served as a non executive director of Victrex.

Seperately, Mr Paul Forman is to retire from the board as a non executive director. 

David Dunn, chairman of Brammer said: “We are delighted to welcome Charles Irving-Swift to the board. His wide experience of the automotive sector will be of considerable benefit to Brammer and the continued development of our strategy.”
