Design consultancy prepares for busy four weeks

The design for PSG's hall of fame

More than four years of work will come together over the next four weeks for design consultancy Mather & Co.

In a record month it will see the Wilmslow-based firm, established more than 20 years ago, open six projects across the UK and Europe, including at French Lique 1 champions Paris St Germain.

Mather & Co has successfully installed the next phase of the Paralympic Heritage Exhibition at Gunnersbury Park, London and Cliffe Castle in Keighley, which celebrates the Paralympic movement and local sporting heroes.

A display at Oldham Library is designed to bring the collections out on public view and advertise the wider major National Heritage Lottery Fund project, which will begin over the next few years.

The design company has also created an interactive quiz at the Milton Keynes Museum to celebrate the life of Milton Keynes founder Jock Campbell, and designed new interpretation for the St Albans Cathedral welcome centre and wider cathedral footprint.

The design firm, which is well versed in creating innovative sporting attractions, has also created a trophy showcase display and immersive film experience at Le Parc des Princes, the home of Paris Saint Germain FC.

Mather & Co specialises in museum, leisure, retail and entertainment experiences and provides content master-planning and attraction project management, creating unique, interactive experiences to bring historical and sporting attractions to life, using the latest technology and design principles.

Managing director Sarah Clarke said: “We have been incredibly busy this year, with six of our projects all opening within weeks of each other – we have even more exciting projects in the final stages of completion, too.

“Each piece of work is completely different, and our design team and partners have had to work hard to create exciting interpretations of ancient history and modern milestones, which will excite and interest visitors for years to come.

“Working on such a diverse portfolio of projects and delivering them within such close proximity of each other is testament to the fantastic team we have at Mather & Co and to our varied design experience across the field. This is by no means it for the year, and we have some even bigger projects in the pipeline.”

Chris Mather, chief executive of Mather & Co, said: “In the 20 years we have been operating, we have never cut the ribbon on so many projects at once.

“This is an exciting time for the business, and we are only half way through the year.

“The team’s collective experience means that we can work on a big European football club project, whilst also researching and replicating hundreds of years of British history for a number of historical churches and attractions.

“Our projects have been visited and revisited millions of times, meeting and surpassing our client objectives, and, most importantly, driving revenue for their respective businesses.”
