Lancashire clinic secures its future with property purchase

Preston-based Penwortham Skin and Laser Clinic has purchased the building it operates in to secure its future following a funding package worth £175,000 from Santander Business Banking.

The business, which offers a range of skin care treatments including laser hair removal, skin peels and dermal filler, is owned by Hayley McKay, a qualified nurse with more than 20 years’ experience in fields such as burns trauma, plastic surgery and dermatology.

Hayley took over the business four years ago and today operates with a wide client base, with clients travelling from all over the North West.

The business has almost doubled in turnover over the past three years and as a direct result of this growth Hayley has been able to hire two additional specialist clinical staff and two admin staff.

The £175,000 funding package from Santander Business Banking has allowed the business to purchase the property where they operate from, helping cut costs from rent and invest in the business.

Along with providing a secure future for the clinic, the property purchase has also provided more security for two other local businesses within the same building.

Hayley McKay said: “The business has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and it is an exciting period of growth for us.

“The support from Santander will allow me to continue to grow my business and the asset, together with rent from the supporting businesses, will assist in longer term plans for succession planning.”

Kelly Catterall, business relationship director at Santander Business Banking, said: “The property purchase and Santander’s support has allowed Hayley to formally cement her position in the local community for the longevity of her business.

“We’re very pleased that Hayley is able to continue to grow and invest in a building she now owns.”
