Developer submits planning application for 187 homes in Cheshire

Plans for the Meadow Lane estate

MCI Developments, part of the UK partnership home builder Keepmoat Homes, has submitted a planning application to deliver 187 new homes on Meadow Lane in Ellesmere Port.

MCI has exchanged contracts with the site owner, Promenade Estates, subject to planning permission being granted.

The site had lain derelict for 10 years, with development stalled, until Promenade assumed ownership and it is MCI’s intention to bring it back to life, creating new homes for the people of Ellesmere Port.

The proposed scheme will bring forward a mix of home types including 127 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and 60 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The site is ideally located, only a five minute walk from Ellesmere Port town centre and the train station providing easy access to Liverpool and the Merseyrail and Northern networks

MCI Developments’ regional managing director, Alex Wood, said: “We are excited to potentially be bringing forward this stalled site and hope to be able to bring much-needed new homes to the town.”

Daniel Hynd, managing director at Promenade Estates, said: “We’re pleased to have submitted our planning application with MCI Developments and hope that they will be able to bring this disused site back to life and deliver quality new homes for the people of Ellesmere Port.”
