Wanderers star helps reap £500k on Bolton Whites Hotel’s conversion day

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jason Lowe gave his support to Bolton Whites Hotel’s pre-Christmas conversion day push which realised more than £500,000 of business.

The fortunes of the hotel – part of the buyout deal by Football Ventures last month to save the League One side from collapse and expulsion from the English Football League – are seen as a vital element of the club’s financial succes.

Jason joined the sales team at the University of Bolton Stadium-based hotel as they spent the full day turning prospective business on the books into confirmed sales.

He made several successful phone calls to clients who showed an interest in the forthcoming Christmas packages.

Lowe said: “We’re all in it together and the hotel has a big part to play with the football club.

“The lads will do what they can to help morale and the staff, who are fantastic. They work very hard in keeping the hotel running as efficiently as possible.”

General manager of Bolton Whites, Suzanne Speak, added: “Jason is really popular around the club and he didn’t hesitate when we asked him to help us out.

“We successfully converted over £500,000-worth of business during what is a very busy period for us.

“We have a number of large conferences in the pipeline and with the Festive period not too far away our Christmas party packages are proving to be very popular.

“After what was a difficult and challenging time during the administration of both the club and the hotel, we are now seeing an increased interest in Bolton Whites.

“The future is very encouraging and we are grateful to all our clients and guests for their support.”

Administrators of Bolton Wanderers announced the successful sale of the club on August 28, to preferred bidder Football Ventures, almost two months after the consortium was named as the preferred bidder.

At the same time, business advisory firm Quantuma also completed the sale of the Bolton Whites Hotel to FVWL Hotel Limited, a subsidiary of Football Ventures, in a transaction that secured the future of at least 100 jobs.
