Ground broken on 174-home Lancashire development

Kier Living directors Andy Gannon, Sue Warwick and Alex Maynard break ground

Kier Living Northern ‘broke ground’ on a new development at Farington Moss in Leyland recently.

Senior directors officially cut the first sod for The Pastures, which will be a development of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes on the outskirts of Leyland in South Ribble.

The site was recently bought by Kier Living as part of its joint venture with Homes England and Cross Keys Homes, with full construction work due to begin on site this month.

Planning permission for 174 homes has been granted and as part of the investment Kier Living is working closely with South Ribble Council to invest around £2m towards local infrastructure services and affordable housing.

Kier Living already supports communities across the North West with developments in West and East Lancashire, the Ribble Valley and across Yorkshire and the North East of England.

Sue Warwick, Kier Living Northern managing director, said: “We are delighted to have broken ground at Farington Moss and look forward to work beginning this month.

“Farington Moss is a fantastic location and the mix of new-build, high-quality homes will benefit from a village setting with close links to the M6 and the rest of the North West.

“Kier Living is committed to investing in local communities and we look forward to working with key local stakeholders to make a positive contribution to the local economy from souring local contractors to investing in new infrastructure.”
