Work begins on Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes’ new development
Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes North West have begun construction work on their new development which will provide 233 new homes for those looking to buy in Barrow.
Planning permission was granted in August 2019 after Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes North West submitted a planning application for 233 new dwellings at Whalley Road, with 113 of these to be Taylor Wimpey homes, and 120 of these being Barratt homes.
Launching this weekend (February 15) with an event for interested house hunters, Clover Meadows will offer a collection of three- and four-bedroom properties to meet demand in the area, providing the ideal living space for buyers with a range of needs, including first time buyers and those looking to up or downsize, as well as affordable housing, including bungalows.
As part of the planning agreement with Ribble Valley Borough Council, Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes North West will contribute £1.2m towards additional education places at St James Primary School and Ribblesdale High School.
Ideally located for accessing jobs and services in Clitheroe, Blackburn, Preston and Manchester, plans for the site also include areas of public open space for both new and existing residents of Barrow, connecting existing green infrastructure to the wider rural landscape of the Ribble Valley.
The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme will be available at Clover Meadows, so purchasers will only need to save a five per cent deposit to secure a new home.
Stuart Craig, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We are pleased to announce that work has begun on Clover Meadows.
“The development is perfectly situated for first time buyers, young professionals and growing families, with its proximity to travel links and the picturesque Ribble Valley.”
Lynton Dudgeon, sales director at Barratt Homes North West, said: “We’re delighted to announce that work has begun on-site at our development, The Brooks in Barrow.
“The Brooks will offer a collection of three- and four-bedroom homes, perfect for a variety of house hunters, including those looking to step on or up the property ladder.”
