Members of the JV North consortium built the equivalent of nearly four homes every working day during the past year.

Homes England figures running from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, show 987 properties were completed – the equivalent of 3.8 homes every working day.

Other figures reveal 1,015 properties started on-site (3.96 homes a day).

Investment by members was supplemented by £36.6m Homes England grant during the 12-month period.

JV North chairman, Wayne Gales, who is also chief executive of Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “This is a fantastic performance by members to address the ever-growing demand for high-quality homes.

“It is a significant achievement, especially in the context of the incredibly difficult end to the financial year caused by the coronavirus.

“We know there are huge challenges facing JV North members, their employees, our partners and the communities they work in.

“They are working extremely hard to keep tenants, residents and staff safe and are monitoring the situation closely.

“While we don’t know how long the current situation will last, having spoken to members there is an even stronger desire to make our communities better by tackling the housing crisis once we emerge from this isolation period.

“The Budget signalled better times ahead for affordable housing and going forward partnerships will be more important than ever before.”

JV North is building more than 4,550 homes in the 2016/21 Shared Ownership Affordable Homes Programme with members investing £475m, supported by Homes England grant of £150m.

Members include Community Gateway Association, Jigsaw, One Manchester, Sovini, Torus, Trafford Housing Trust, Weaver Vale Housing Trust and Wythenshawe Community Housing Group.
