Planning application submitted for 129-unit scheme in Stretford

The proposed scheme

CERT Property and Lymm-based Heatley Developments have today (April 28) submitted a planning application for 129 apartments across four blocks on their development site, Royal Canal Works.

Royal Canal Works is a contemporary, new-build development of one- and two-bedroom apartments in a canalside location in one of Manchester’s most up and coming suburbs.

The development is located adjacent to Stretford Metrolink stop and a few minutes walk from Stretford town centre and Stretford Mall.

This proposed scheme comprises a low-rise development of three- to five-stories across the four blocks.

The design by Elevate Architects takes both Art Deco influences from the nearby Essoldo cinema and also influences from the site’s industrial heritage.

All the apartments have been designed to make the most of the waterfront setting with the majority of units benefiting from views over the canal and sizeable private terraces.

The scheme also incorporates an extensive landscaped external space running along the canal for the benefit of residents.

Howard Lord, managing director of Manchester-based CERT Property, said: “We are really excited by this project and delighted with the design which delivers a really high-quality, contemporary offer for the area.

“This is a fantastic location for young professionals and families who want to live in a pleasant suburban environment with plenty of green space, facilities and amenities nearby, but still with an easy commute to the city centre and beyond.”
