Brownfield site acquired with a view to regeneration

The former industrial site

Two Liverpool property firms have combined to acquire a site in widnes as a regeneration opportunity.

Brownfield and contaminated land specialist BXB, and Promenade Estates, acquired the former Cameron’s Yard site in Hale Bank, Widnes, for an undisclosed sum.

The 3.75 acre plot was previously used for industrial purposes.

BXB says it has opened discussions with Halton Borough Council about options for the site on Hale Road, which sits within the Hale Bank Regeneration Action Area.

Gary Goodman, BXB director, said: “This is a typical brownfield site that will benefit from our in-house technical, de-risking and planning skills.

“This acquisition is in partnership with Promenade Estates and further strengthens our working relationship with them.”

The two companies are working together on the proposed regeneration of a 110-acre former glass works site in Cowley Hill, St Helens.

Mason Owen advised BXB and Promenade on the acquisition, which was unconditional via sales agent CBRE.

Bermans partner, Claire Morris, acted for the purchaser.
