Contracts exchanged on latest housing scheme for Lancashire town

One of the home designs for Clitheroe

National housebuilder, Miller Homes, has announced its latest North West site, located in Clitheroe.

The North West team recently exchanged contracts and secured planning permission via Zoom for the upcoming development at Henthorn Road in Clitheroe.

The development will be named Montague Place – comprising 110 new homes, 33 affordable homes, as well as eight bungalows, providing accommodation for over-55s.

Alongside the two-bedroom bungalows, Montague Place will offer a mix of three- and four-bedroom properties.

As part of its planning agreement, the housebuilder will make contributions of £870,000 towards education, public transport, town centre upgrade works and off-site leisure.

The purchase of the site is scheduled for the end of August, with construction work to start mid-September.

The unveiling of the first homes is anticipated for Spring 2021.

Ian Smith, regional managing director for Miller Homes North West, said: “Clitheroe is an attractive town which benefits from a rural location but has good transport links to the main towns and cities in the North West.

“It will certainly be a great location for families, especially with highly-regarded schools in the area.”
