Wizz Air adds to its Winter network from LJLA

Wizz Air

Hungarian no-frills carrier Wiz Air is adding two more destinations to its base at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The low-cost carrier focused on central and Eastern Europe will enhance its Winter programme from the airport with links to Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, and the Romanian city of Cluj.

Twice weekly flights are due to start at the end of October to Chisinau, making Liverpool the only UK airport to serve Chisinau outside of London.

Twice weekly flights to Cluj will also be reintroduced, while flights to Iasi, also in Romania will continue to operate through to the Winter period, too.

Wizz Air already operates to nine destinations from Liverpool, including locations in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.

Paul Winfield, director of aviation development for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: “We are delighted to see Wizz Air continue to develop their business from Liverpool, creating opportunities for passengers from across the North West and North Wales to travel to a growing number of central and Eastern European destinations.

“We believe there are opportunities for Wizz Air to significantly expand their operations from Liverpool,” he added.
