New tenant for Anchorage following refurbishment completion

The second phase of the multimillion-pound estate refurbishment programme at Anchorage, Salford Quays, has reached completion and attracted social marketing agency, Campfire to its growing tenant base.

Specialists in digital content creation and website optimisation, Campfire has taken 1,851 sq ft on the fourth floor at Anchorage 1 on a 10-year lease.

The fourth floor has seen the biggest changes as part of the refurbishment programme, where, alongside new WCs, staircase and lobby areas, a series of smaller office suites have been installed, providing space for a greater variety of businesses within the building.

The ground floor reception area, as well as all the floorplates throughout the six-storey development, have been upgraded and now benefit from open plan layouts with exposed services.

The fourth floor has been refurbished to a ‘CAT A+’ finish which provides ready to occupy space, saving tenants’ money, time and capacity to focus on their core operational priorities.

The building’s design follows that of the upgraded floors and extensively refurbished atrium at Anchorage 2, where the stunning entrance space boasts flexible breakout areas, café and convenience store amenities, as well as fitness and wellbeing facilities, all of which are available for use by tenants at Anchorage 1.

The work at Anchorage 2 completed in 2019 and the building was subsequently fully let within a year of its official relaunch.

Ian Murray, director at Canmoor, said: “With the unexpected challenges that we have faced this year, it is fantastic to not only complete the refurbishment of Anchorage 1 on time and on budget, but to also welcome new tenant, Campfire.

“We only kick-started the refurbishment programme at Anchorage two years ago and it is remarkable to see the change in the estate during that time.

“Not only does it have a completely new look and feel that suits the modern occupier, giving them space and flexibility to work most productively and safely during these unusual times, but we have also welcomed a number of exciting new tenants who have brought new life and opportunities for collaboration within the building.

“With the work now complete, we look forward to safely welcoming many more new businesses to Anchorage over the weeks and months to come.”

Floorplates within Anchorage 1 range from 1,884-5,639 sq ft with only around 30,000 sq ft remaining.

JLL and Edwards & Co are the joint letting agents on the Anchorage scheme.
