Work set to begin on 50-home scheme for Lancashire village

Plans for the Elswick development

Developer Kingswood Homes will start work next month on 50 new homes in the Lancashire village of Elswick.

The development, a mix of three-, four- and five-bedroom, farmstead-style homes, will feature lots of green open space, a trademark of Kingswood’s award-winning projects.

Managing director, Paul Jones, said: “Elswick is a popular location offering a semi-rural lifestyle with good schools and local amenities, but also excellent access to the road and motorway network for commuting to Blackpool to the West and Preston to the South.

“As always our house types will reflect the local area and create interesting street scenes of character with lots of open space for residents to enjoy and which we know helps foster a sense of community.”

He added: “Our unique Shape Your Home option will be available allowing buyers to choose the interior layout of a property to suit your own lifestyle.

“Whether they need more bathrooms, a home office or prefer a large social space for entertaining, the interior can be tailored to their requirements. No other traditional house builder offers this level of customer choice and flexibility.”

To demonstrate Shape Your Home the three show properties at The Hawthorns will include the ‘Sleep Lux’ version of the Byre 4, configured to offer three large en-suite bedrooms, two with their own dressing area.

Other show homes will demonstrate the range of Kingswood Homes with the Haybarn 3, a three-bedroom detached and the five-bedroomed Farmhouse 5.

The Shape Your Home option will be available to customers on all plots.

The show homes, facing onto Beech Road, are expected to open late summer with the first residents moving in by the end of the year.

Kingswood anticipates strong demand at Elswick following the success of its Hollies development at Forton where only four of the 38 homes are still available to be reserved.

The development will also include 15 affordable homes.
