Chartered surveyor expands with move to bigger city centre premises

Rory Dillon

Manchester Chartered Surveyors, Fletcher Bond, has expanded with a move to bigger offices in its current city centre base.

Founded in 2016 by managing director Rory Dillon, it has relocated to provide a spacious and modern environment for its growing team at 61 Mosley Street, having recently welcomed five new team members.

The firm specialises in property restructuring, agency, valuation and strategic asset management and development, providing clients with professional and individually tailored solutions.

Recent projects include a luxury penthouse development scheme in Cheltenham, the development of a new 40,000 sq ft advanced manufacturing facility, as well as the disposal of 260 ground rent properties across the UK.

Rory said: “We’re thrilled with the new office and would like to thank Salford Quays-based Recom Solutions for a fantastic job on the fit-out.

“Our investment in the city centre is because we think it will bounce back post-pandemic.

“As a business, we are recruiting and do our best work when we can all collaborate in the same location and are close to our clients.”

He added: “The philosophy of our business is about collaboration and being a customer-oriented business. Our training programme ensures that all of our colleagues obtain the appropriate technical skills to become a professional surveyor, but particularly for younger colleagues, to develop some of the softer skills you really need to be in the same physical environment.

“Teams and Zoom is good to a point, but sitting in on a design team meeting, for example, is best done in the same room, sat around the drawings with a red pen and not on Zoom.”

The enlarged office space

He said that, as the risks of the pandemic subside he thinks there will be a move back towards a more person-to-person collaborative approach.

“We have survived the worst of the coronavirus slow down and, indeed, have a healthy pipeline of work.

“As a relatively new business we have ambitious plans and hope to continue to expand the team and service our clients in the North West and beyond as the country reopens and activity increases.”
