Council marketing land with planning permission for 265 homes

The Lancashire site

Land with planning permission for 265 houses is being marketed by Lancashire County Council.

The 27.40 acres site is situated at the north and south of Old House Lane, Westby-with-Plumptons, in Fylde, on the outskirts of Blackpool.

Outline planning consent was granted in March 2020 for what represents a substantial housing development site, situated in a sought-after residential area.

The site, which is being offered freehold, has good transportation links, located in close proximity to junction four of the M55 Motorway.

Originally, the land included 1.5 hectares of employment development land, but this has now been disposed of.

Vacant possession will be given on completion.

Gary Jones, estates manager with Lancashire County Council, said: “Our estates team are very pleased to bring this predominately greenfield development opportunity to the market.

“The development, in part, should bring much needed affordable homes to this thriving rural parish and provide the county council with a receipt to help support our essential services.”

He added: “Following planning approval of the mixed use scheme, the employment land element of the site was sold making this now a purely residential site.

“Both elements will stimulate economic activity in the area which, in turn, will help to support recovery following the financial impact of COVID.”
