Sky Store

Manchester Arndale has announced the signing of Kurt Geiger, Carvela and a brand new flagship Sky shop.

Combined, these tenants will occupy 8,133 sq ft in the centre.

Originating in London, Kurt Geiger values itself on being inclusive, offering kindness and embracing creativity. It encourages people to be confident and ‘truly themselves’, no matter where they are in the world.

The brand has been designing for more than 50 years, creating handbag and shoe styles for men and women. According to the brand, its distinctive Rainbow signature styles represent good energy and love for the community. Kurt Geiger will be opening a 2,195 sq ft store in the retail centre.

Carvela will occupy a 2,447 sq ft unit. It is a sister brand of Kurt Geiger, created for a ‘fearless generation which encourages people to embrace strength’. It has a range of styles and accessories, including trainers, heels and ankle boots along with bags, phone cases and sunglasses.

Sky, a leading media and entertainment company, will also be opening its biggest ever shop at Manchester Arndale. The new shop brings together its innovative mobile, broadband and TV products all under one roof, with dedicated expert advisers and bespoke areas.

Customers will be able to test out Sky’s latest innovations, displayed across the shop for maximum convenience and accessibility, for the first time. Shoppers can experience Sky’s Sky Q technology and speak to advisers about products.

Colin Flinn, non-executive director and spokesperson for Manchester Arndale, said: “We want to ensure Manchester Arndale remains an exciting and progressive place for all of our customers to visit.

“Introducing popular high end retail brands such as Kurt Geiger and Carvela will help to strengthen its position as one of the ‘go-to’ shopping destinations in the North West. In addition, the Sky shop introduces an interactive experience to our customers – they will be able to try out new Sky products in the store as an alternative to simply viewing and purchasing them online.”

He added: “Manchester Arndale is an iconic city centre destination which sits in the heart of the community. Over time, we have continued to widen our base of occupiers, bringing in a diverse set of retailers alongside leisure and lifestyle operators, supported by a wide ranging food and beverage offer. We’re looking forward to sharing more exciting news about other new occupiers in the months to come.”

Matthew Price, retail director, Sky UK, said: “We are delighted to be opening our largest Sky Shop in Manchester which will allow Sky to showcase the amazing benefits it has to offer new and existing customers. Manchester Arndale is an iconic retail hub and we’re pleased to be able to offer a safe environment in which people can shop for the latest innovative technology from Sky. We look forward to opening our doors and sharing the full experience with customers.”
