MasterChef winner Simon Wood launches cheese and wine dining concept
Chef Simon Wood is launching a new cheese and wine fine dining concept for Manchester this week.
Homage, which opens on Thursday, will be situated on the second floor of the chef’s acclaimed flagship Wood Restaurant on Jack Rosenthal Street.
It will offer only seven tables each night to “maintain its personal fine dining approach.”
The former MasterChef winner is hoping to draw in diners following dinner at the main restaurant.
On offer are cheese courses with expertly matched chutneys, accompaniments and paired wines and liquors to carry guests through the evening.
All produce will be sourced from local artisanal diaries and producers, foragers and craftspeople.
Homage is the third concept launched by Wood following Wood Manchester where he resides as Chef Patron, and his second restaurant, WoodKraft Cheltenham.
Simon said: “Wood has defied all expectations and brought unintimidating fine dining to Manchester.
“We are thrilled to be launching Homage as a complementary concept, and it will be a first of its kind in the UK.
“Homage is about connecting, sitting back and enjoying time with family, friends and colleagues, whether you’re having a quiet taster and glass of wine with a friend you’ve not seen in years, or a business meeting over a long port with an associate.”
