KPMG has welcomed 160 new graduates and apprentices across its Manchester and Liverpool offices.

It is the largest intake of graduates and apprentices in recent years across the firm’s audit, tax and advisory practices as it looks to build on its strong presence in the North West.

In Manchester, 127 graduates and 22 apprentices joined the firm in autumn.

Half of the graduates joining the Manchester team will be working within technology teams, reflecting the demand for these services and Manchester’s position as one of the UK’s leading tech hubs.

Meanwhile, KPMG’s Liverpool office welcomed seven graduates and four apprentices, all of whom will be working in the firm’s audit function.

Warren Middleton, Manchester office senior partner at KPMG UK, said: “Graduates and apprentices are at the core of our business, so I’m pleased to be welcoming the latest cohort to our Manchester and Liverpool offices as we look to build on our strong presence in the region and support the brilliant large and small businesses we have across the North West.

“Graduates and apprentices are not only the future of our firm, but they provide new ideas and ways of solving problems that mean we can continue providing the very best service to our clients.

“It is great to see so many young people keen to join our offices in Manchester and Liverpool and is a testament to the pull of the North West – it’s a great place to live and work.

“As more and more companies, and the Government, are moving out of London and into cities like Manchester and Liverpool, it is proving to people that you don’t have to be in London to have a well-paid, rewarding career – we offer them right here, on our doorstep.”

Across the UK, nearly 1,200 graduates and apprentices have joined KPMG recently.
