Specialist travel firm for charity sector welcomes new clients despite Covid challenges

Diversity Travel, the Manchester travel provider for the charity, academic and non-profit sectors, has added £15m to its client portfolio in the last three months.

Over the past year the company has supported 847 clients in booking 25,457 flights to 189 countries worldwide over the past 12 months – providing charities with savings of £3m on their global travel throughout 2021, the company has said.

It comes amid significant humanitarian challenges across the globe this year, including the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, a devastating earthquake in Haiti and the return of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

As a result of its efforts, the business, with offices in London, Manchester and Washington, has added new clients worth £15m to its client portfolio in the last three months alone.

Clients include the Social Enterprise Academy and The KIT Royal Tropical Institute.

Diversity Travel’s Managing Director, Christopher Airey, says: “The past twelve months have understandably continued to present significant challenges for global travel.

“Yet, at the same time, the vital work charities and humanitarian organisations undertake around the globe has never been more vital.

“We’re immensely proud of the stand-out £3m in travel savings our passionate and dedicated staff have negotiated for our clients – allowing them to continue to help the most vulnerable people in some of the most inaccessible places on the planet.

“It’s this expertise that has seen us welcome a raft of new clients throughout the year, who we look forward to providing the same high quality and dependable service for in 2022 and beyond.”

Further new clients include SOS Children’s Villages International and Climate Strategies.

This success follows the launch of Diversity Travel’s dedicated Study Trips division earlier this year, following the collapse of rival STA Travel.

Next year will see Diversity Travel launch its Carbon Reduction Strategy to accelerate the reduction of carbon across the business, with the aim of achieving net zero by 2025.

Christopher added: “From building upon our new Study Trips division and striving to reduce our impact on climate change with our new Carbon Reduction Strategy, to continuing to help our new and existing clients with all of their travel needs, we are all really excited to see what 2022 will bring.”
