Directors’ investment sets up online furniture retailer for global expansion

CARME Home, the Manchester-based luxury online homeware retailer is extending its worldwide reach following a six-figure investment by its directors.

This follows 20% year on year growth in 2021.

The company recently launched a second distribution centre in mainland Europe, based in Rotterdam, to expand its delivery services following the brand’s continuous success and growth.

The new distribution centre will be active in the first quarter of 2022.

As part of its worldwide expansion, CARME will also be opening a distribution centre in the USA and developing its Far East team to increase its output of product development, quality control and overall production capabilities.

Increased consumer demand has led to an overall expansion in its product portfolio, too. Several new collections will be introduced to continue to infuse elegant design with technology, it said.

Current product categories will be developed to sit alongside its home décor ranges, with two new sub brands launching, and the manufacturing division will also be upgraded and modernised in line with the latest manufacturing technology.

The company has recently moved its headquarters to a new, bigger office, in Heywood, to offer an in-house photography studio and showroom to create in-house content and tutorials. This will be met with an expanding UK team in the marketing, customer service and digital departments.

New CARME Home HQ

Marc Epstein, founder of CARME Home and design specialist, said: “2022 is an exciting year for the CARME Home brand. Following the successes of the last three years, we’re incredibly excited to be adding to our already diverse product portfolio, while simultaneously providing more distribution centres across the world.

“Our success shows no signs of slowing down as we continue to be passionate about creating trends and delivering the most advanced furniture thanks to our impressive fusion with technology.”

Mr Epstein has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector, and after finding a passion for design he teamed up with his now business partner to found CARME Home. Soon after his wife, creative and branding director, Rachel, joined the business to continue the business’s growth.
