MCR extends its Scottish portfolio, with more acquisitions in the pipeline

Europa House

Manchester’s MCR Property Group has made another purchase in Scotland.

The group has acquired Europa House in Motherwell, for an undisclosed sum, its third purchase north of the border, and its first of the New Year.

Europa House is situated in the north of Motherwell town centre, close to the M8 and M74 motorways. It is fully let and comprises 20,836 sq ft of space.

The four-storey property also comes with a fully landscaped site of around 1.5 acres, and 66 dedicated car parking space. It also offers one acre of development land, which MCR plans to submit a planning application for a further 10,000 sq ft of industrial space.

MCR, which has a Scottish HQ in nearby Glasgow, has invested more than £20m in Scotland’s commercial and residential property market in the past 12 months.

Previous deals include The Pentagon Centre in Glasgow and Merlin Business Centre at Hillington Park.

These are the first of several more planned acquisition in Scotland.

MCR asset manager, Nick Lake, said: “We are always actively seeking to buy assets which are not only a good investment but also can further provide the opportunity to create new commercial workspaces, especially where we can feed into the demand of the increasingly buoyant industrial sector.

“Europa House is in a fantastic location surrounded by rail and road networks and will be the first purchase in what we believe will be a busy 2022 for us in Scotland.”
