£4.3m contract awarded for new Trafford Park distribution warehouse

A £4.3m contract to build a 68,000 sq ft distribution warehouse at Trafford Park, Manchester, has been awarded to Caddick Construction (North West).
Work is now under way on the new Guinness Point warehouse scheme on Richmond Road, which is being delivered on behalf of Heref Merlin Trading Property Unit Trust.
The Caddick team from the Warrington office of the Yorkshire-based business, will deliver a warehouse 14.5m high to the parapet, which will also include two floors of offices, as well as a service yard, car parking and landscaped areas.
In past years Caddick Construction has delivered a variety of schemes in and around Trafford Park, including The Williams Group’s £41m flagship automotive retail centre at TraffordCity and the international headquarters for Regatta on Mercury Way.
Trafford Park is one of the largest and most successful business parks in Europe and is home to more than 1,330 businesses employing in excess of 35,000 people.
Ian Guildford, contracts manager at Caddick Construction (NW), said: “Trafford Park continues to go from strength to strength and its popularity as a logistical hotspot for the North West shows no sign of abating.”
The architect for the build is Liverpool-based Brock Carmichael, with engineering support from Healey Consulting. Project manager is Black Cat Building Consultancy.
