TUI bases extra plane at Manchester Airport to increase summer flight frequencies

TUI is boosting capacity at Manchester Airport

Holidays group TUI UK is expanding its services at Manchester Airport with the addition of an extra aircraft based at the site this summer.

Following a relaxation of travel restrictions as the pandemic eases, the company will serve seven different destinations including Greek hotspots Kefalonia, Rhodes and Crete as well as Turkey, Palma, and Cyprus.

TUI will also operate a large programme from Manchester Airport with 21 flights per week to the Turkish resorts of Dalaman and Antalya.

And it will increase holiday durations to offer more 10/11-night holidays from Manchester to Greece, Palma, Cyprus, and Turkey.

Richard Sofer, TUI’s commercial and business development director, said: “Summer holidays are an important way for our customers to relax and reconnect with loved ones, and that’s never been more important than this year.

“To ensure we’re offering maximum flexibility and choice we’ve increased the number of flights to our most popular summer destinations with an extra based aircraft at Manchester Airport.”

Karen Smart, Manchester Airport managing director, said: “It’s great to see TUI increase capacity at Manchester Airport for this summer, which I am sure will be popular with the 22 million people in our vast catchment area.

“With the easing of travel restrictions last month, we are seeing more and more customers looking to take a well deserved break after so long, so it’s great to have this additional choice available to them.”
