A new property advisory firm has been launched in Manchester.

EDIT LEISURE has been established by Stuart Burdon-Bailey, who was former head of leisure at CSP (Curson Sowerby Partners), which has offices in Manchester and London providing occupational advice to retailers, landlords and developers in the out of town retail and leisure market.

Stuart’s venture is a leisure advisory business specialising in leasing, development, consultancy, asset management and tenant representation.

He has gained more than 20 years’ experience in the property and leisure industry.

His skills cover offering landlords strategic development and leasing advice, but his new entity will also support regional and national occupiers by providing expertise in a wide scope of areas, ranging from site acquisitions and disposals to leasebacks and lettings.

Previously, Burdon-Bailey has worked in global consultancy firms such as CBRE and JLL.

Throughout his career, Burdon-Bailey has acted for some of the most respected leisure brands, investment funds and developers in the UK.

And, he said is also one of only a handful of experts in the country that understands in depth the operational dynamics of the cinema sector, a specialism that EDIT LEISURE will offer to clients.

He said: “The leisure sector experienced huge disruption during the pandemic, but remains a vital part of our social fabric, as evidenced by its ability to recover so quickly.

“I will use my experience and deep market knowledge to create opportunities for established and emerging concepts as the industry rebuilds and evolves. There is so much diversity in this exciting sector, and it is constantly reinventing itself by challenging customer expectations and cultivating new business models.”

He added: “I am proud to have been involved with some great businesses during my career, and I’m delighted to be using my expertise in a new venture to convert client objectives into tangible results.”

Although based in Manchester, the new firm will work across the UK.
