Boohoo agrees final settlement in US class action over pricing

Retail giant Boohoo has agreed a settlement on a US class action after being accused of misleading customers on pricing.

The Manchester online retailer said a final settlement “without admission of liability” has been agreed but that it remains subject to review and approval by the District Court of California.

On November 4, 2021, Boohoo said it was close to agreeing a settlement after a case filed in California accused Boohoo of inflating its original prices in order to make its discounts seem greater than they actually were.

In a market update today Boohoo said: “The Settlement is without admission of liability and is consistent with the guidance of 4 November 2021, being within the Group’s existing legal provisions disclosed in its latest published audited accounts.

“The Settlement remains subject to review and approval by the District Court.”

The lawsuit dates back to July 2020.
