Triton extends Liberty link to clinch £16m-worth of new contracts

Plans for the Whitchurch scheme

Triton Construction has won two contracts worth a total of £16m to deliver new care home facilities for Liberty Care Developments.

The firm, which has a Warrington base, will soon start on site to deliver a 72-bed care home on a two-acre site in Whitchurch, and construction is already progressing on a 72-bed care home on a 1.35-acre site in Crewe.

Liberty Care Developments is a part of Liberty Properties, a privately-owned company established more than 35 years ago in Chester, specialising in retail, commercial and industrial development across the UK.

It provides turnkey solutions in care home properties, from site finding through to planning and development and is delivering these projects for specialist care provider, Anavo Group.

The two projects will provide, purpose-designed, three-storey care homes to facilitate end of life health care for residents, including those with special needs.

Triton is providing full design and build expertise for both projects which include full fit-out, and associated external works for parking, landscaping, service installations and highways alterations.

The latest contracts follow the successful completion, by Triton, of an 80-bed Premier Inn hotel in Porthmadog for Liberty Properties.

Paul Clarkson, managing director at Triton Construction, said: “These developments require very specific installations to support people that need specialist nursing care and provide an opportunity for those most vulnerable to maintain their personal choices and independence.

“This extends to the provisions outside, as well as inside, of the estates and our delivery extends to disability provisions and aesthetic landscaping with privacy.”

He added: “We have built a strong and trusting partnership with Liberty Properties to become its preferred construction partner and are discussing further development projects as it pursues expansion in the care sector.”

Triton is also supporting Liberty Care Developments’ and Anavo Care’s commitment to community engagement on the projects with construction site work experience opportunities and collections for the local hospital children’s ward.

Andrew Baddeley, managing director at Liberty Care Developments, said: “Liberty Care is currently delivering 144 C2 beds for our care home operator, Anavo and we are actively seeking further care home sites to meet the significant need for purpose-built, modern and safe care facilities in the North West.”

Triton Construction is a £65m turnover company providing design and build, civils, fit-out and refurbishment services. Established for more than 16 years it employs more than 80 staff across offices in Yorkshire and the North West.
