Further expansion for sales training specialist

Sales training specialist, Sales Geek, continues to expand its network of offices, this time in Manchester.

The Blackburn-based business has opened a new office, headed-up by sales experts David Mercado and Mike Palman.

Established in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Richard and Lucy Few, the company has doubled in size every year since launch, while its Sales Geek Hub app now has users across the globe.

David Mercado and Mike Palman have a combined 50 years of sales experience.

David’s sales career began in 2003 with a three-year stint as sales manager at Schneider Electric, followed by more than seven years with Honeywell, where he grew his regional area from £1.1m to £4.5m across three different roles and promotions.

He has since moved successfully through roles including national channel sales manager UK & Northern Europe for Zumtobel Group, head of sales UK, IE & Africa for the Lumenpulse Group and senior vice president of global sales for Tala.

Prior to joining Sales Geek, he was sales director for Nualight, responsible for global sales within the group’s specialist technical lighting solutions, commercial and industrial LED lighting division.

Mike Palman spent the past 30 years in sales and executive management building and selling companies. With significant skills in business advisory and sales consulting, Mike took one software client from £7.5m to £22m in 18 months and halved the sales force in the same period.

Most recently, before joining Sales Geek, he was head of sales EMEA for OptiSol Business Solutions, a digital transformation partner of global enterprises, with a team of more than 400 agile smart employees, a development centre in India and global offices in the US, UK, Australia, Ireland, Sweden, and Dubai servicing in excess of 200 clients across 24 countries.

Mercado said: “Mike and I are really excited to be launching Sales Geek in Manchester and helping businesses in the city exceed their sales expectations and achieve the growth of their dreams.”

In May this year the business opened a new office in Coventry, while the previous month it opened its second operation in London, following the opening of the company’s first London office, covering London North East in late 2021.
