A new training scheme aims to help more than 1,000 people with digital skills over the next three years, with support in getting a job on completion of their course.

The Fearless Academy will be situated in Manchester. It features some of the world’s most successful digital marketers, backed by Wilmslow-based investment platform for British e-commerce entrepreneurs, Fearless Adventures, founded by former-Social Chain entrepreneur, Dominic McGregor, alongside David Newns and Charlie Yates.

Launching its first bootcamp in September, The Fearless Academy will create industry talent through a course designed by the industry for the industry, it said.

It will nurture, coach and develop anyone looking to retrain or upskill in all things digital. Bootcamp specialisms include SEO, PPC, graphic design, web development and more.

The Fearless Academy aims to train 1,000 individuals over the next three years. Its tutors are all experienced marketing professionals from Fearless Adventures that have supported a diverse range of high growth global brands, including The Hut Group, Unilever, E!, Aldi, Logitech and Superdry.

Fearless Adventures’ dedicated talent team, headed up by Alex Hayes, will also support students find employment once they have completed the 12-week course.

From helping them prepare for interviews to hosting career days where students can network with potential employers, they will provide a boost to their employment prospects.

The Fearless Academy’s co-founders have been at the forefront of the digital marketing industry for the past 20 years, building and scaling global businesses, including Manchester-based Social Chain and Liverpool-based Nerudia.

Both Dominic McGregor and David Newns took alternative paths to business success – the former dropped out of university while the latter bypassed it to found and grow digitally-driven global firms. Now, not only do they have large networks of professionals looking for talent, but they also source it for investees in their venture capital platform, Fearless Adventures.

Dominic McGregor said: “As a business leader, I’ve seen first hand how taking chances on young talent can transform a business.

“But now, more than ever, sourcing the right people is becoming one of the biggest issues for businesses. There’s a real skills gap for digital marketing experts that is constantly widening. Our mission is to reverse this trend by upskilling the next generation of ambitious talent.”

Fearless Adventures is a venture capital platform, injecting not only cash into the direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses it invests in, but also supporting them with best-in-class digital marketing and top flight digital talent to help them scale.
