MLP Law has launched a new Manchester city centre office, and has announced the acquisition of commercial solicitors practice, Tebbitts & Co, for an undisclosed sum, as part of its growth trajectory.

Altrincham-based MLP has opened a new branch at Peters House, Oxford Street, which will provide a new base for its 25-strong team.

Tebbitts & Co is based in Crewe and Warrington and Max Tebbitts joins MLP as a partner in the commercial IP and litigation team.

Stephen Attree, managing partner at MLP, said: “MLP Law is looking ahead to an exciting period. We are thrilled to bring Max on board to further strengthen MLP Law’s commercial and litigation offering, and to announce our new Manchester city centre office, which will aid our people in their working relationships with city centre clients and support our flexible location policy.

“Max has over 20 years’ experience as a solicitor and will undoubtedly make a considerable impact on our team thanks to his significant expertise in commercial law.”

The new Manchester office will be used by team members from across the North West as a base for work and meetings.

MLP operates a flexible hybrid working policy, with team members able to choose which location they work from, office or home-based, depending on their requirements. MLP has offices in Altrincham, Lymm and Leeds, as well as the new city centre base.

Stephen added: “MLP Law is on a clear growth trajectory after a successful few years. We have developed long standing relationships with some of the most successful company owners and directors in the region, often aiding them in every area of their business and personal lives, with many joining our retainer-based fee model.

“We aim to support our clients at every stage of their business journey. Having a new base in the city where many of our clients are located helps us to do just that – and bringing Max on board to offer additional expertise in commercial law is another exciting opportunity.”
