Blackburn sales training business expands with international Airlines Group deal

Blackburn-based Sales Geek has won its biggest sales training contract to date with IAG Cargo, the cargo division of IAG (International Airlines Group), formerly British Airways.

With annual revenues of more than €1.6bn, IAG Cargo uses the belly capacity of the group’s five airlines, and maintains three hubs at Heathrow Airport, Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport and Dublin, to provide freight transportation to hundreds of destinations across the world.

The Sales Geek contract sees the company delivering blended learning through live sessions and on-demand content via the Sales Geek Academy to IAG Cargo sales staff around the world, including the UK, Europe, America and Asia Pacific.

Sales Geek is a multi-award winning provider of business solutions and sales training for businesses and public sector organisations across the UK and internationally.

Established in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Richard and Lucy Few, the company has doubled in size every year since launch, while its Sales Geek Hub app now has users across the globe.

Richard Few said: “We’re immensely pleased and excited to have won this contract with IAG Cargo and are looking forward to further developing the skills of their teams around the world through 140 live sessions and online learning.

“Delivering training to over 130 staff split across two seniority levels, the sessions are very much a two-way interactive process blending group training and 1-2-1 mentoring, which has been a hugely fun and challenging process when working with trainees in different time zones literally across the globe.

“As well as to our fantastic team, being able to deliver such a major programme on a multinational basis is also testimony to the greater connectivity now being achieved across the world with the world-wide adoption of digital video communication, and we’re looking forward to delivering more training of this type in the future.”

Caroline Andrews, chief people officer at IAG Cargo, said: “We are so excited to be partnering with Sales Geek at a time when IAG Cargo is creating an environment where everyone’s contribution is recognised, and curiosity is rewarded.

“We want our people to thrive and we’re committed to offering our colleagues development opportunities to upskill to ensure they have the skills needed to be fit for future.”
