Internal construction at a £125m residential scheme on the periphery of Manchester city centre has been completed, with an early January 2023 opening planned.

Widnes-based developers Sourced Development Group, and main contractor, Sourced Construction Group, carried out the work on Block B of the new residential development, Regent Plaza.

Block B, sitting at the rear side of the Regent Plaza site, will deliver 92 apartments over nine floors.

Apartments comprise generous sized one-, two- and three-bedroom units, as well as three-bedroom duplex townhouses.

While the internal construction is now finished, the exterior is fully prepared and ready for the final layer of the facade to start in the coming weeks.

Site hoarding is due to be removed mid November ready for landscaping to start, and external works are due to complete ready for tenant occupation in December 2022.

Located in the emerging creative quarter, Regent Plaza is a landmark residential development on the edge of Regent Road. The scheme brings major regeneration and economic benefits to the Regent Road area.

Regent Plaza boasts 525 units over five blocks, along with 153 private car parking spaces, communal podium level landscaped gardens and courtyard.

With phase one of the development due to complete this year, construction continues to Block C and D.

Work on the remaining blocks is ongoing, with Block A offering an impressive 27-storey building with stunning views across Manchester. As well as living spaces, Regent Plaza offers residents communal facilities including a private residents-only gym and 24-hour reception/concierge service.

A spokesperson for Sourced Development Group said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to provide 92 sumptuous new homes in this fantastic development. COVID presented many challenges and we are immeasurably proud of the team at Sourced Construction in the finish of these spacious apartments in this landmark development.”

Manchester continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in terms of property price growth with average rental yield at 5.19%.

The completion of Block B comes as Salford City Council revealed plans to create a new ‘waterfront town centre’ on Salford Quays. Boasting an all-weather pavilion, new restaurants and coffee shops, it is set be a landmark destination for culture, entertainment, media and skills in the North West.
