Completion of new build 45,000 sq ft regional HQ leads to 100 new jobs

Bolton-based Seddon Group has reached practical completion of a new build 45,000 sq ft regional headquarters facility in Wigan.

The asset comprises a 45,000 sq ft workshop on 10 acres of external hardstanding at Makerfield Way in Wigan, which has been pre-let to Algeco, a European company involved in modular and temporary accommodation.

Algeco has relocated from its former Trafford Park premises and has leased the property by way of a new 15-year lease.

Located between the M6 and M61 motorways the facility benefits from easy access to the hubs of Manchester and Liverpool and the wider North West region.

Jamie Seddon, development director of Seddon Group, said “We are delighted to have delivered the scheme on programme, with the creation of 100 new jobs to the satisfaction of both tenant and investor alike.”

Nathan Khanverdi, associate director in Colliers’ North West industrial and logistics team, said: “All parties and the council worked tirelessly to meet the tight timescales of Alegco.

“Testament to the quality of the build and the tenant we are really happy that this site has been forward purchased by a well renowned real estate investment company, Aprirose.

Aprirose which has transacted on £1.5bn on assets over the past five years, is due to complete on the site imminently.
