Housing provider re-submits application for 60-home Aintree scheme
Your Housing Group has submitted a new planning application to Sefton Borough Council to transform a 4.5-acre site in Aintree into a vibrant residential community of high quality affordable housing.
The proposals for the development on Heysham Road, Aintree, close to the world-famous racecourse, now include 60 new homes with a mix of two-, three- and four-bed properties, offering affordable rent and shared ownership tenures.
The original plans for 64 homes were rejected by the council in November 2022.
Birchwood-based YHG has worked to address the reasons for refusal of the earlier scheme and it is hoped the changes incorporated into the revised scheme of 60 units will enable the local planning authority to approve the new scheme in due course.

The proposed development will be located within the mixed-use area with surrounding commercial and fellow residential spaces.
It benefits from with good access to public transport links, and close proximity to the M57 and M58 motorways and nearby Aintree Retail Park.
The Heysham Road site is a stone’s throw away from another of Your Housing Group’s popular residential communities on Sentinel Way.
Your Housing Group has 20,000 homes across the North West and Staffordshire, with nearly 6,000 located in Merseyside. It also played a key role in the £260m regeneration of Anfield, including seven new two-bedroom modular homes completed in 2021.
