New development of 20 affordable apartments for Cheshire village fully let

The new Oathills apartments in Tarporley

Tarporlery, in Cheshire, has seen completion of a development involving 20 one- and two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent.

Cheshire-based housing association Weaver Vale Housing Trust has completed work on the new development across two low-rise blocks.

The apartments, all of which have been let, will see tenants with a local connection moving in over the coming weeks to the maisonette-style apartments.

The Oathills development has open green spaces for residents and there are also electric vehicle charging points, bike storage, and solar panels to ensure the homes are fit forthe future.

The scheme, which started on site in September 2021, has been part-funded by Homes England and brings muchneeded affordable housing to the area.

Weaver Vale Housing Trust has worked closely with Tarporley Parish Council to make sure the homes meet the needs of local people.

Built by the Casey Group and designed by John McCall Architects, the development is part of Weaver Vale’s wider commitment to deliver new affordable homes across Cheshire and Warrington.

Jo Fallon, director of regeneration at Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “Tarporley is a desirable place to live, and these new apartments crucially increase the number of affordable rent homes in the area.

“This reflects our wider commitment as an organisation to tackling inequalities in Cheshire and building back fairer.”

Jo added: “This new development of high quality, eco-friendly homes will help tenants move towards a greener, more sustainable way of living.

“We’d like to thank Tarporley Parish Council for their support and input which has helped to ensure these homes meet local needs.”
