Jet2 launches new summer route to Montenegro coastal resort

Tivat

A new summer route from Manchester Airport has been added by leisure airline Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

From May 1, the airline will be flying its first trip to Tivat in Montenegro, which features golden beaches, picturesque villages and rugged national parks.

Flights will operate twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays, until October 30.

Tivat on the west coast of the Balkan Peninsula, opens up an array of options for holidaymakers, including resorts such as Budva, Becici and Herceg Novi.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Feedback from customers and independent travel agents in the North West has been telling us that flights and holidays to Montenegro are very much in demand for summer 23, and we know that Montenegro is a destination that customers want to get to.

“Since putting services on sale to this destination from Manchester Airport, local customers and independent travel agents have been booking getaways to Montenegro in their numbers.”

Vladan Draskovic, CEO of The Airports of Montenegro, said: “This summer is the right time for the UK travellers to revisit and rediscover once well-loved spots in Montenegro.”

Director of National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, Mrs Ana Tripkovic Markovic, said: “Last year, we had about five times more tourists from the UK than in 2021, and we believe that the launch of the Manchester-Tivat airline route by Jet2.com will ensure that such trends continue.

“Montenegro offers numerous opportunities for different types of vacation. We are sure that untouched nature, spacious beaches, excellent gastronomic offer, numerous events and a handful of opportunities for outdoor activities will leave quite an impression on British tourists.”

Chris Woodroofe, Manchester Airport managing director, said; “Montenegro is an exciting destination with a rich variety of attractions, so we’re really excited to see Jet2.com expanding its route network from Manchester and offering passengers more choice.”
