First phase of 1,000-home development completed

A new 149-home development has been completed in Netherton, Bootle, as the first phase in a 1,000-home scheme.

Sovini Construction, part of Liverpool-based The Sovini Group, has completed the first phase of the Morris Meadows affordable housing development.

Morris Meadows is part of the group’s new build framework which seeks to build 1,000 high quality, affordable homes within the next five years.

With a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes available through affordable rent, rent to buy and shared ownership tenures, the development is serving the housing needs of the community.

It comprises 91 houses, and 58 flats.

Designed by architect Condy Lofthouse for clients One Vision Housing, the high-rise apartment block was built on repurposed brownfield land.

On completion the affordable housing development will be maintained by facilities specialist Sovini Property Services to ensure a focus on the reduction of energy consumption, through thermal efficiency and running costs remains viable for clients.

James Flannery, director of construction and land for Sovini Construction, said: “The Morris Meadows development has been designed and built in collaboration with our unique supply chain.

“The homes are energy efficient as we continue to embrace renewable technologies with an environmentally friendly approach to construction.”
