Inspiring women to speak at our next lunch event

When Jacqueline Hughes-Lundy founded the Inspiring Women Awards in 1992 she didn’t expect to be here 30 years later still recognising and promoting the achievements of 100’s women who live or work in the North West of England, North Wales and in 2022, nationally and internationally.

Many of the Award winners have gone on to receive further recognition through our Honours system and in 2018, 3 more were honoured: Diane Modahl MBE (Sports Award winner 2003); Marnie Millard OBE (Business Award winner 2016) and Britain’s most decorated Winter Paralympian Menna Fitzpatrick MBE (Inspiring Young Woman Award winner 2017).

And last year’s winner, the inspirational Dr Shikha Pitalia, an award-winning entrepreneurial doctor who has brought improved healthcare for hundreds of thousands of patients across the North West within both the public and private sector. She co-founded SSP Health and Pall Mall Medical, which have helped to provide better care for people in need. She is also an advisor on the UK Council for the British Asian Trust. Founded by King Charles III, BAT works across the South Asian sub-continent on projects, particularly to empower women and provide better opportunities for children.

On this journey Jacqueline has also formed the Inspiring Women Foundation providing support for 16-25-year-olds who have beaten the odds to achieve their dream; been inspirational to others; set up businesses or are overcoming obstacles to pursue their career.

Jacqueline had a 17 year career in Financial Services, bowing out as a Director of a Legal 500 company, moved into consultancy setting up Olivia Henry Associates delivering events and conferences with international businesses, universities, hospitals, hospitality groups and Michelin starred chefs.

She is a published travel writer and food and drink reviewer, even enjoying a spell as a food and drink judge for a prestigious magazine and a lecturer at the North Wales Business School and the Universite de Picardie Jules Verne in France and an External Examiner to University of Wales Trinity St David.

By day she is the Director of Global Development at qualification provider BQSL.

This Women in Business lunch, sponsored by JMW Solicitors will feature Jacqueline and Shikhas as special guest speakers, reflecting on their achievements for women. Click here to grab your ticket.
